Points to Take Note of When Using a Weed Eater
In terms of ease-of-user, weed eaters are among the gardening tools that offer users maximum comfort and the best ease-of-use. This is because they only make use of spinning nylon rope for trimming and cutting. They have no wheels. They are light weight and thus their operators carry them with their two hands as they cut grass with them. Though, weed trimmers are capable of cutting stubborn grasses, they have no blades and guides. The nylon rope spinning at a very high speed is capable of tearing down grasses including stubborn ones.
Another important point that you should know about weed eater is that it is available in a number types. It can be classified based on the type of shaft it has. Based on this, there are straight shafted weed eaters, curved shafted weed eaters, and split shafted with eaters. Weed trimmers can also be classed based on their sources of power. Under this classification, there are also three types of weed eaters, namely, electric weed eater which is a type of weed eater that is powered by electricity, battery powered weed eaters which are powered with lithium battery and gas powered weed eaters which are powered with gasoline. Electric and battery powered weed eaters are also known as corded and cordless weed eaters respectively. They are suitable for light and medium tasks. But best gas powered weed eaters are stronger and heavier and thus are suitable for heavy duty tasks.
Weed eaters are not the same thing with lawnmowers. There is the tendency for some people to confuse the two. Lawn mowers have wheels. Though, they are used for cutting but there are some parts of the lawn that you cannot cut with them. For example, edges around the driveway and fences as well as narrower areas in the lawn cannot be cut with lawn mowers. But this is not the case with string trimmer. As it has been mentioned above, string trimmer can be used to cut edges around fences and narrower spaces. Another major difference between the two is the absence of blades in trimmers. Lawn mowers have blades while trimmers don't have. Weed eaters are held with two hands while lawn mowers are pushed around.
